HCOS Inc. is based at Kurrajong and is a dynamic Community organisation servicing the Hawkesbury Local Government Area. This position is funded by Department of Communities and Justice a Targeted Early Intervention Program.
Full time Contract Contract up to 37.5 hours per week. SCHCADS Industry Award.
Become part of a motivated and supportive team based at Kurrajong Community Centre.
The role involves needs assessment, program development, advocacy, and building community capacity.
Qualifications/Work Experience: Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive skills and experience in the provision of Community, Youth, Child and Family Services or Social Work.
Staff Management: Ability to manage and support a small team of staff.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills: To build rapport with diverse individuals and groups.
Empathy and compassion: To understand and respond to the needs of others.
Problem-solving and analytical skills: To assess situations, identify solutions, and develop effective strategies.
Advocacy and networking skills: To represent the needs of individuals and communities and build strong relationships with relevant stakeholders.
Organisational and time management skills: To manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Knowledge of Department of Communities and Justice and NSW Education Regulations, and willingness to learn DEX data collection process and development of Program Logic
Ability to facilitate community development programs: that strengthen participation and wellbeing.
Partnerships: Build and maintain partnerships to expand support and service access.
Innovative: Design and evaluate initiatives that create sustainable community impact
Community Management Committee: Experience in working with a Community Management Committee and with a dynamic multi-disciplined non-profit organisation.
Driving licence and comprehensive insured vehicle
This position is subject to a ‘Criminal Police Check’ and a ‘Working with Children Check’.
