The HCOS Community Services Team assists families with dependent children, and individuals, in the Hawkesbury community who are experiencing difficulties or disadvantage.
We believe that YOU are best placed to identify your own needs and goals, and we seek to build your strengths, working with you to navigate your way through difficult times.
We offer case management and referral to families in distress in the Hawkesbury LGA. Any family may experience problems with housing, Centrelink, finances, health services, domestic violence and more. We offer advice, support, practical assistance, case management and referrals to other programs and counselling.
We operate during NSW school terms for families with children up to start-of-school. Each playgroup is facilitated by an HCOS staff member.
These groups cater for parents and carers of children aged 0–18. They operate in various community organisations and venues within the Hawkesbury LGA.
These groups engage adolescents aged 12–18 and operate in high schools in the Hawkesbury LGA.
We run events to support and engage senior members of the Hawkesbury community, with the Seniors’ Christmas Lunch a highlight of the HCOS calendar. The events feature celebrity hosts, trivia and entertainment, guest speakers on subjects of community interest, gifts, prizes and more.
We run events to support and engage LGBTQIA+ members of the Hawkesbury community, and provide many other services to assist rainbow families and individuals.
